When I was 11 years old my father took me to the movies and we saw Lasse Hallström “My life as a Dog”. When I look back, there is no doubt that this is the cultural experience that has meant the most to me. It both shaped me as a human and ignited my interest in movies. It is a sad fact that films from continental Europe has disappeared from Norwegians Cinemas. My goal with KontxtFilm is to change this fact and help Cinemas to give children and youth in Norway a better variety of films.

My strongest qualification is that I love films and that I am still in good contact with the child inside me. I also carry a dream to find a movie that can have the same impact on children and youth that Hallström’s film had on me. It will be not easy, especially reaching out to the masses, as Hollywood is good at its work and has grown a very dominant role at Norwegian cinemas.

But hopefully KontxtFilm can get some attention. I have a dream (maybe naïve) that quality will always survive. KontxtFilm was founded in 2012 and will only focus on children and youth films. And will release those both Theatrical and Home Entertainment. I have a goal to put the film into the right context, both in marketing terms but also in how we released it. With KontxtFilm you will get real commitment; because I only want to work with films that I love – and with love come commitment.
